April Poier has been a vocational rehabilitation counselor since 1995 and is a co-owner of Ability Vocational Consulting. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She is a Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) since 2006. April earned a Master’s of Science in Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of Wisconsin – Stout and is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). April completed the Professional Goal Attainment Program (PGAP) certification and is an Activity Coach. She looks for opportunities to become involved with the direction of the vocational industry in Washington State. She enjoys volunteering her time with Vocational Technical Stakeholder Group (VTSG) and various committees sponsored by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. She specializes in complex claims, older claims as well as legal cases. April enjoys traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. April serves Thurston, Pierce, and King Counties. She also serves clients in Arizona in all phases of vocational services.
