Joseph Young, MPA, AIC, CDMS
Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant
Joseph Young began working in the workers’ compensation field in 2007 as a claims manager with Liberty Northwest in Boise, Idaho. In 2009 he went back to Graduate School at Eastern Washington University and focused his studies on the workers’ compensation system while receiving a degree in Public Administration. Joseph returned to claim work with the Department of Labor and Industries in 2011 and completed their 22-month apprenticeship program. He has been providing direct vocational services to injured workers since 2014. Joseph holds several professional certifications including Associate in Claims (AIC), Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) and a Journey-level certified Workers’ Compensation 2 Adjudicator. He especially enjoys complex claims and solving complex problems unique to the Washington system. Joseph enjoys guiding workers through the vocational and claim process and assisting them to resolve their claims and move their lives forward in a positive direction. He was born and raised in Spokane and has lived all over the northwest. He loves to travel and has visited South Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, Costa Rica, Belize, and Guatemala.
